I love being able to compose text messages quickly with a full keyboard. I love that it's small but has a large positionable screen because of the way it flips open, candy-bar style. Definitely an upgrade from my LG flip phone from the early 2000's. Sucks if you don't use Verizon because there are a few Verizon-only features in the software, but at the same time, I'm happy that I can use it on the Tracfone system, which ironically uses the Verizon cell towers but I'm not paying Verizon the ridiculous Smartphone prices for this obviously-not-smart phone. It's also awesome that the battery lasts about three days between charges because I'm not actively using it more than 10 or 20 minutes a day.

Decent basic phone with Qwerty keypad, if you want something inexpensive. It does seem to randomly turn off for no reason on occasion (maybe 1x/wk), but has great battery life.

Nice-looking phone. I like the size and the features. I like the ease of the texting keyboard and when I want to take a picture, the camera is easy to use and I can download them to my computer later.. I also use the calendar and alarm features pretty often to keep track of appointments, important events and deadlines.

I got this phone because I have had lg phones before and i think they make really solid phones, and with the candy bar design on the outside and the full keyboard, the phone has a lot to offer. I like everything about the phone, the keyboard, the displays, the user interface, but there are just two setbacks for me. 1. If i leave the phone in my pocket, on occasion it turns off. I don't know if in my pants the end button gets pushed or the battery moves, but is definitely annoying. I have a case on the way, which might help. 2. I have the keygaurd set that you have to press the ok button twice to unlock the keys, very normal. But sometime if i try to read a text on the outside screen, and i press ok twice, it opens the message without turning off the keygaud, and then once you try to reply or something, you then have to turn off the keygaurd. So basically the keygaurd is dysfunctional every once in a while. Hopefully Verizon will come out with a software update to fix this. I hope my review helped and i would recommend this phone to a friend.Read full review
This phone is fantastic. If you like a full keyboard, it's got it and it's a durable one and has an intuitive layout. If you like a bigger screen it's on the inside. On the outside, if you prefer to use the dialpad, it's got it on the outside. It has a decent sized screen as well. Navigating it's menus is very simple. Only issue I ever had was it's lack of resiliency in extreme cold. The fact that the battery isn't a separate piece from the shell of the phone it CAN be jarred loose and turn off if dropped, but not always. Very rarely does it happen. If you're more into smartphones, this one isn't for you. It's not designed to navigate the internet, keep you updated on your e-mail and facebook, etc... it's a fantastic texting phone. Call quality is normal. Battery holds a charge really well.Read full review
Although this is not quite a smart phone, it's smart enough if you do not want to use the Internet and incur $30/month/phone in additional charges. It has a decent sized screen, takes a fair picture (who carries around a digital camera?), and has an easy to use keyboard. Its functions are intuitive. The battery life is o.k. as long as it isn't constantly searching for a signal which chews up the battery quickly. It does have an annoying habit of locking itself after a few seconds of use to prevent unintended calls from being sent.
I purchased the LG EnV3 strictly for a messaging phone. I send and receive high volumes of messages so it was important that I have a phone with the capability of message grouping by contact, which this phone does nicely. Very easy to use menu, customized shortcut keys, dedicated messaging key. Large QWERTY keyboard with good tactility. The outside key pad has a nice feel to it and allows for easy one-handed texting when necessary. Overall very good for what I need it for, camera takes very good pics for an older phone, music quality is not bad either. The only cons would be the headphone jack being smaller than standard; and when texting with the QWERTY keyboard, first letters are not automatically capitalized. Highly recommend this phone for an inexpensive, durable message phone.
I bought the Env3 to replace an Env2 that I broke rock climbing. I got Env3 because it has the space button located in the center where it belongs rather than split on either end (I kept sending partial messages when I needed a space character). Used Env3 currently fetches about double that of an Env2. I have since discovered that the Env3 provides a 3 megapixel camera, (2 megapixel in the Env2). The big difference for me is that the Env3 requires a $9.99+tax adder on my monthly bill, an extra $130 per year for the ability to accumulate up additional charges for actually using it (the 25 MB included in the package doesn't go very far). I have email at work and at home, so really only want phone with QWERTY for texting. I like having the ABILITY to use the Internet for directions or radar in an "emergency" (@ $1.99 per MB), but don't need or want to pay for it all the time whether I use it or not. The $9.99 data plan requirement is a carrier greed thing rather than a fault of the phone itself. The feature set and user friendly aspects of these 2 models is awesome, and nearly identical otherwise, but after having both and finding them so similar, I will be re-selling my Env3 as soon as I get another used Env2.Read full review
The only reason I gave this device a 4.5 is because the battery life is a little crappy. My friend Kelly has this phone and she has to charge it every night whereas her last phone the flipshot had outstanding battery life. This battery problem is due to the phone being a heavy applicastion packed based messaging phone. It is very easy to text on and I did have the chance to play with both hers and one in maroon at verizon. I really liked the device, but then I saw the battery life complaints As for the camera it is a 3.0 and is very good, however as a con for that as I tried to take pictures your fingers easily get in the way of the camera because there is no real holding place to the phone when it is opened. Texting is fast, the keys are big and easy to use. I really like this phone but I like my chocolate touch better!! THEY DONT SELL THIS PHONE OR THE CHOCOLATE TOUCH ANYMORE FOR THAT MATTER,older review.Read full review
i enjoy buying from ebay. just like i love this type of phone. it takes good pictures and it holds alot of ring tones and pictures. its easy to use ans battery holds for a couple of days. i like u can lock your phone and no one else can get in it. i had a env2 first which lasted me over 2 years. for a cell phone thar is really good. the front bottons seems to be the first to go out on these phones. ive always used a phone cover to help protect them. but the good thing is when front bottons start to stop working allyou have to do id flip open the phone snd still have full assest to everything u need, which allows you to keep using your phone. thats a good thing. ive gotten my moneys worth by always using the env style phone. thank you
