It seems to be working just fine. I have had another 1 T toshiba external drive for years and it works good as well. To be fair I've just started using this new one, but no issues yet.

Encryption software must be installed on the pc accessing the drive rather than running from the drive itself like Western Digital Passport drives. I will not be buying another Canvio drive because of this. Otherwise it appears to be a quality product.
