There are certain areas of the game, that have the most annoying camera angles of any game I have ever played on PSP. They are visually annoying, but do not impair game play for an adult, but they do highly annoy younger players, who fall off cliffs, because of the bad camera angles. That is the only negative I have on the game, and with that said, this game is a lot of fun to play. The graphics are outstanding, and you feel like you stepped right into the cartoon world. It has it's challenges, and some of the difficult monkeys, still hide out in my PSP, as I have yet to figure out how to rid the level of them. Just when you think you can hit them with the stun club and net them, they open fire on you with machine guns, rockets, and they have each level booby trapped with switches, for wind tunnels, trap doors, and other annoying antics. These highly evolved apes have a master plan for taking over the world. You will love this game, after all we are the Superior Intelligence of the Universe. Yeah Right, count how many times you come back, to try to get some of those apes, to open up the mini games, or complete secondary levels. "YOU CAN DO IT" Check it out, highly recommended.Read full review
Ape Escape on the Loose/ Ape Escape P/ Saru Getchu P is a remake of the original Ape Escape/ Saru Getchu that was released for the PSX/PS1 in 1999. I have never played the game myself, but I am a big fan of the Ape Escape franchise. You play as a boy named Spike and travel back in time to capture over-crazed monkeys bent on rewriting history. Jake is mind-controled by the badguy, Specter, which makes your mission two-fold: stop Specter and rescue Jake. Sound- Sounds like Ape Escape. Replay Value- You'll never wonna stop playing. There are some monkeys you cannot get until you've acquired a certain gadget. Beating the game will only get you about 65% of the total amount of monkeys. Graphix- Nice and colorful. Voicing- Inproved from the original version. Story- Pretty simple. 2P Gameplay- Not much of a 2P game, however, I think that there are some minigames that have 2P. (Collect Specter coins to unlock minigames) Negatives -The camera simply hates you. -Unlike in the first one, the X button is used for jumping, therefor, limiting the amount of gadgets you can switch to to 3. Overall A great game for the PSP. Great fun for kids and adults. Score- 9/10Read full review

Verified purchase: Yes | Condition: Pre-owned
This IS my favorite game for psp. its actually my first ape escape game and I would recommend it to anyone. The Mini games are so fun like boxing, ping pong, snowboarding and Jake attacks. The mini games keep the game fresh when youre bored of the regular game after playing it for hours like what i did and you can go and look at all the monkeys you captured and see there strenght. I could't put it down, I'm 13 years old and one of those kids that likes shooting games but this game makes me never want to play another shooting game again. I love the grafix its like cartoons. If i could give it more stars I would give it 10 more.
ape escape: on the loose is a very good game with lots of replay value. the first time you go through the game you only get to catch about 50% of the monkeys the other half you have to catch when you get certain gadgets. i liked all the cool gadgets and the gameplay was pretty smooth, although ther were some camera issues. overall i would recommend this game to younger players.
