    A Scott Kelby Book, ALWAYS Great!

    Been buying Scott's books for many years, they are always instructive in regular layman language, well illustrated, and very informative. Highly recommend this book to all digital photographers - I have 60+ years photographic experience, and still manage to learn from Scott. There is a volume 2 of this book, and You'll find more info & tips there.

    Volume 2

    This book picks up where Volume One left off, with excellent tips and advice many of us wouldn't think of. If I have one complaint about this book, it's that it covers portrait and wedding photography in great detail. Since that's not my area of interest, I simply skipped those parts and concentrated on areas which do, such as landscapes and travel. While these books may be too basic for many, they're very beneficial to those of us who are learning as we go. I've even gotten used to Scott's (different) brand of humor. All in all, an excellent addition to your reference library.

    More ways to improve your Digital Photography

    Scott Kelby has done it again, and I didn't think he had enough ideas to write another book. Book 2 has a heavy focus on building a studio, portraiture and wedding photography; he has some really great tips for the last one. There is a third book as well and I own it too, as well as The Photoshop Elements 3 Book for Digital Photographers. They are all excellent books and I would recommend them all to anyone who wants to improve their digital imaging skills. If you have any other questions, read my review of The Digital Photography Book, Volume 1. CLK

    BEGINNERS MUST HAVE VOL 1 & 2

    WHAT I LIKE? EVERYTHING!! Is like having a PRO answer questions that you would not normally think of asking like, what type of TRIPOD is best for travel as a beginner myself i REFUSE TO PART WITH THESE 2 VOLUMES!!the amount of information it is simply AMAZING i dont think that there is any type of shots that these books do not cover except perhaps underwater photo.. Scott tells it like it is in plain language for us beginners and some amateurs to understand LENSES,SETTINGS,EQUIPMENT,YOU NAME IT,he explains it..BOTTOM LINE IS IF YOURE SERIOUS ABOUT PHOTOGRAPHY, IT IS MY BELIEVE THAT THIS IS AN EXCELLENT PLACE TO START IT HAS BEEN FOR ME!!!     Get Even Better The Second Time Around

    I had the first Digital Photography book written by Scott Kelby, see my other reviews, and this one is just as good, or better, then the first. The book is a lot easier to understand then most photography books, and is laid out so it is very simple to understand. The layout is as if you are out on a photography trip with the author and ask him a question and he gives you a simple answer on how to do what you asked. It contains a wealth of information that expands on the first book. I would recommend that if you purchase this one to go ahead and purchase the first book as well. I will definitely be looking to see if a third ones is published, and if so will purchase it as well.
