This is an awesome mic if you use it right, but it can be a little tricky, since it is extremely sensitive, and while it technically has a cardioid pattern, it's gonna pick up everything in the room. Also, make sure whatever you're plugging it into has 48v phantom power, and make sure the cable you're using has XLR on both ends, since most interfaces only connect power to XLR. Because of these things, here is a list of things you absolutely need to have if you want to get the most out of this mic. 1. An interface/preamp/mixer/etc. with 48v phantom power 2. A mic cable with XLR on both ends 3. A shockmount (this mic will pick up handling noise and floor vibrations otherwise) 4. A stand (this is not the kind of mic you hold and dance around the stage with) 5. Either an isolation shield or an acoustically treated room (unless you want that natural reverb) 6. A talented performer - this mic picks up every detail, good or bad While all of those may sound like reasons to not get this mic, the sound you'll get out of it is more than worth it - you just have to factor it all into the cost. The sound quality is really good and it is very sensitive. The review asked if it was lightweight but I’m not sure why that matters. It’s a solid mic that weighs what a solid mic should weigh. This is one of those products that everyone kinda agrees you can’t go wrong with. Using it for music vocals in a room with acoustic foam and it’s working out great.
