Was the right part for our kitchenaid mixer when our speed control switch broke. some wire plugs were in a little different position but were labeled and worked fine I would recommend this switch to replace a broken one it was easy to install with the aid of a you tube video

Better control than the original that is no longer available.
Control required wiring that differed slightly from the older (original) control (instructions can be found on YouTube, all wiring exists in the mixer but connects differently). The original control is no longer available so no other choice but to use this control. Better control than the original.

Perfect for replacement or customizing
Perfect replacement, An airbrush artist friend painted my mixer with old school hot rod flames. I decided that the little black knob on the speed controller would look much better if it was a little chrome skull. I was unsure how to pull the knob off without damage, so I purchased one of these to experiment with. I was able to cut the knob off a piece at a time with a pair of diagonal cutters and then epoxy on the little chrome skull (make sure you glue it right side up! lol).
