I was able too use the tool, but because the motor had been setting for awhile the lifters were a little hard to remove.

Old motors tend get a little oil varnish at the bottom of the lifter, the part that never enters the bore. That is normal and makes it hard to remove them sometimes because you have to pull the lifter through and at the same time pull the varnish off as it enters the bottom of the lifter bore. That is the reason the tool was made. If the lifters just slid out like when they were new, no tool would be necessary, so not sure what your feedback has to do with the tool.
