    an all time favorite

    after this movie hit the big screen the united states went from selling boards to just a few kids in california to a whopping 50 000 that same year. it is a bit campy but you need to remember it was the earley 60s

    Fun movies, bad transfers

    The three Gidget movies are a welcome change from today's moviegoing fare. It's all good light hearted fun filled with great locations. Each of the three actresses portraying Gidget have their own qualities. It's a shame that the mastering to DVD was so poorly done. Characters in dialogue have half their heads cut off due to the formatting from Panavision to whatever they used. Beautiful second unit photography is cut and poorly cropped for the same reason. But, it still has charm that can't be beat. If you've been to any of the locations (Malibu, Hawaii, or Rome) you'll recognize the usual classic locations, but from 50 years ago. I chose to ignore the issues and just have fun!

    If you're a Gidget fanatic- it's a good buy.

    I bought the set of three to replace the original "Gidget" movie that I owned on VHS. The other two were a bonus. The original with Sandra Dee is my favorite. She plays a sweet, innocent tomboyish high school girl whose friends have started taking notice of the opposite sex but she hasn't figured out what all the excitement is about yet. She gets dumped by her friends for being a drag and meets a handsome college boy that finds her annoying but eventually gets pulled in by her charming and sweet innocense. It's definately the 50/60's era, therefore good wholesome fun. The second one with Deborah Walley as Gidget is okay--she's not as sweet as Sandra Dee but likeable enough. Gidget goes to Hawaii with her parents and breaks up with Moon Doggie over a misunderstanding. Seeing how miserable ...

    I Love Gidget...very cute & fun!

    I bought this set because I initally saw one of the 3 films included in this set "Gidget Goes To Rome"...that is actually my fave out of all 3 of the Gidget movies...it is very cute, lighthearted and girly all at the same time. The other two films included in this set I also liked a lot as well, each of the leading ladies playing Gidget has their own style while still being very Gidget...I also LOVE "Moondoggie", played by James Darren in all 3 films, he is very pleasant to look at. I would definitely reccommend anyone who loves girly or old style movies to puerchase this set, as I will be watching them all again very soon.
