For example, when flying low over Africa, you may see small huts in tribal villages and elephants grazing next to acacia trees. As good as you can get.
This is 2006 technology in programing. I know of none better, though. There is a large online community which has many planes you can put into the game. You really need a good joystick-- about --$50. Very serious users will have multiple monitors & foot peddles. Go figure that you can spend $200 an hour for lessons in the real world.

As far as I can tell, the product is great and came as advertised (actually better). Unfortunately, it doesn't seem to want to work with Windows 10. I have a second machine with Window's 7 maybe it will work there. Everything was perfect except it doesn't work on my DELL...or at all in Window's 10. Understand, there was no guarantee or statement about being able to work with Window's 10.. I have a really high powered DELL L702 machine, with 8 gb of RAM, 3 TB's of Harddrive, `all w/3D capability, both current audio and video cards, JBL sound systems...it was really disappointing that this thing didn't work. Sometimes you just have to eat the $27.00. As far as I can tell, the product is great and came as advertised (actually better). Unfortunately, it doesn't seem to want to work with Windows 10. I consider myself to be a person who has a curiosity for almost everything in Life. So of course flying has become one of my dreams/ goals to accomplish. However, at this point in my life I am only able to afford minimal access to actual flying. So I did some research on the better flying games (as realistic to human Life as possible. I'm not into games that are made of sci-fi worlds. In MFS you fly out of real small and large airports all over the world. So I looked at the computer requirements and I noticed that my computer only had a 3.3 Microsoft gaming score. So I decided to stick with the Original Microsoft Flight Simulator X. Now many of the other reviews are going to say that its not that great because the graphics slow down the game on their computer. But you have to keep in mind that the game was released in 2006, and the computers that were made back then were not intended for this game. The game was probably made for future computers. Because it works great with my Microsoft gaming score of only 3.3 (out of 7). The only complaints that I have about my package, is that I wish there were more planes, and I wish you could custom build your own plane or something of that sort. And the other complaint is that I wish I had a joystick that vibrated much like the controllers with do with Playstation. But thats not the game makers fault, I just need a better joystick. So I'm looking forward to the next series of Microsoft Flight Simulator, because I will buy it, even if I'm a licensed pilot by then.

This is a great way to relax and enjoy a few hours of fun in a number of aircraft at a great selection of airports and simple landing strips. The aircraft are realistic and there is a virtual realism that gives you the effects of various natural weather conditioons. I flew Hang gliders and a variety of Ultralites for a number of years and this software gives a very realistic feel to the simulation, the only thing missing is the feeling in your stomach of the themal lift and downdraft reacting on the craft. The same goes for the sailplane and the helicopters. I wish the programmers were able to give sensory imput with the visual.This is a great way to relax and enjoy a few hours of fun in a number of aircraft at a great selection of airports and simple landing strips. Inexpensive fun for Geezers
Over half a century ago I used to fly a Piper J3 when I was in the Civil Air Patrol. Life got busy, school was demanding, then I got married and had no time to call my own. Over the years I have been lucky enough to catch rides in small planes from time to time but I was always too broke to go for my license or be able to rent a plane just for the fun of flying. Then I discovered Flight Simulator X and decided to invest a few bucks in fun for me. Now I can fly J3's again or Cessna 172's but I still don't like helicopters or sail planes but they are imbedded in the software too along with a variety of other single and twin engine prop planes and a variety of jets from small Lears to the monster transcontinental flying busses. Anybody of any age will be able to get really involved and have a ton of fun with this software if they like flying. I think that I'll poke up a Hawaii map and plot myself a corse form Hana to Midway and do a little bit of open water VFR, seat of the pants navigation now.
