The product works as described, so no fault of the seller. However, I bought it to transfer old MiniDV cassette videos to my converter box (little Brookstone product) or my PC. What I didn't expect is that the output cable is a strange DV output (I think it's called FireWire IEEE 1394) originally intended to plug into computers back in the day. Since no modern computers have that input, I bought a little FireWire IEEE 1394 6 Pin Female to USB Male adapter. However, the next problem is that there's no software on modern computers to accept the incoming video. Next, I bought a USB to 3.5mm male audio/video cable, to plug into my Brookstone video converter. Unfortunately, the audio and video signals are somehow not converting into the box. So, I'm off to find another old MiniDV camcorder with a different output.Read full review

I only needed the unit to transfer a bunch of old mini dv tapes to computer. It played fine. Won’t ever use it again so can’t review recording capabilities.

Great little camera. Easy to use, transfers old tapes via FireWire 400 (1394) and remote control via iMovie on mac.

I bought this as an in-car camera for my race car! It does an excellent job of shooting on track and handles the bumps and virations well. I think it is a low end camera as far as quality and features but certainly is an awesome beginner camera.
