I bought this for my 6 year old. As her first camera it is perfect, far better than those "kids" cameras sold at major retailers. Waterproof, drop proof, large buttons, very basic camera, an excellent way for a kid to learn about photography. (I am a full time photographer) My one disappointment is the view screen is dark. Usable, but dark. Pictures are good, well exposed and the flash is useful up to 20ft. I would compare it to one of the old 400 ASA disposable cameras, with a better lens. The pics will not win any juried competitions, but they will make a little girl happy. On the plus side, it uses regular SD cards and AA batteries! I can see me "borrowing" it for a few pool pics in the summer. At under $40, a great deal.
This is a great all weather/water camera. Took it scuba diving and snorkeling in Mexico and it did a pretty good job, especially at 40ft. It takes fair to average pictures out of the water but not outstanding. The shutter speed is slow compared to my Canon SD870IS and I did miss a few shots I wished I hadn't. Overall the camera takes done pretty good pictures and for the price my complaints are minimal.
Value for the money spent, picture quality good, and easy to use. However, very difficult to see screen underwater and flash is subpar above water. However, as stated a good value for the money.
I love the possibility to take pictures underwater and on dry or dust environments. The camera have a nice sealing, that protect the batteries, memory card and all other connections. The camera not record sounds of videos recorded, but its a technical limitation, due the functionality that permits taking pictures underwater. The image is not so good outside water and have a lot of noise. But underwater the image and videos is very very nice. A tip: When recording videos underwater move the camera slowly. When taking pictures underwater turn the flash off to avoid very high exposure and a lot of brightness on image and avoid to use zoom to keep the image quality.
This is an easy to use camera great for your fishing or beach trip. Not a pro grade camera by any stretch, just a point and shoot you can take for a swim.
