    Hard and tuneful

    I've started getting to know Dimmu Borgir by the album, Puritanical Euphoric Misanthropia. After I've followed them and I like their music. Some month ago I was thinking about the early albums, what kind of music are they? I bought this and I am not disappointed. Hard but melodic, very enjoyable music. Although it was released first more than 20 years ago, it could be very fresh if you listen to it. Not an obsolete one. I recommend it!

    An Excellent Major Label Debut

    If you loved Dimmu Borgir, you must have this album! Not only it was their first to be known worldwide, but it was the first album in English. I love melodic Black Metal...In fact, this is the style of music that I'm doing now! My favorite tracks are "Tormentor of Christian Souls", "Spellbound", and "Mourning Palace".

    If you claim to be a fan of symphonic black metal, or melodic black metal, this should be in your collection. The song songwriting, the dream-like production, the subject matter.....it's all here. Amazing release.
