Been wanting a leather-bound copy of this book for quite some time now and am pleased that patience has paid off. Found a great deal that is below the subscription price for this edition directly from Easton Press. Seller shipped promptly in a padded box ensuring its survival of the oftentimes perilous trek through the postal system. I should add that the book was described in 'very good +' condition; however I would rate it in 'pristine, as new' conditon. Fantastic transaction: A+!

  • Book Review: It by Stephen King

When I read this book for the first time it took two years because it was so creepy/scary. I would check it out of the library; read a little bit, get scared, and take it back to the library, vowing never to touch it again. Then I would start wondering about the characters: what were they doing, what was going to happen next etc, so I would check the book out again, read a little bit, get scared, take it back to the library, vowing never to touch it again. And so it went until I was finally finished reading it and completely hooked on this great story about the demons (both real and imagined) that we all face, both as children and as adults. A book loaded with atmosphere and very visual, the reader is transported almost imediately to a place that could be small town anywhere, where ...

  • If you haven't, you MUST read this book

Forget the movie, and forget anything else keeping you from sitting down for a great shiver! This is King at his best. As with so many of his writings, this one takes place in Derry, Maine. I must admit that is one town I don't even want to visit. Way too many very evil things have happened in that town. Beverly makes a very good point, when see says that people have just quit looking (feels much safer that way). King is a master at words and imagery. While reading this book, I found myself seeing what I was reading. Now I love a good horror story, but this one I had to put down every once in a while, get a breath of fresh air, and quit looking over my shoulder. You know they say that movies are usually not as good as a book. They (whoever they are) must have been ...

  • One of King's best

I've been reading Stephen King for years, and this was one of the first that really creeped me out. If you're looking for a good scare this is a great choice for the beginner King. This is King at his finest ghoul-wise. Pennywise is a such a deliciously creepy invention, the pure evil in the guise of a child-friendly clown. The character development is another of King's great marks of greatness, and this is no exception even with a full seven heroes to flesh out. Dont' let anyone tell you to watch the movie instead, the movie is just a show for those who have read the book. You honestly dont' get anything from the movie like you would in the book so go here first. It's nice and long and keeps you at the edge of your seat many a time. A terrific book and a real ...

  • It by Stephen King

The movie was quite scary when I first saw the clown that was taking the children from Derry. Even in the end it was even scarier when I saw what was really behind the clown. It by Stephen King was published in 1986. The book opens open in the year 1957. George Denbrough is killed by Pennywise the Clown when George is out sailing his boat that his brother Bill Denbrough help him to make out of newspaper then sealed it with paraffin wax to protect the boat. Between the years 1957 up till 1985 there are numerous murders that are continuing to go on in the little town of Derry. In 1985, Mike Hanlon makes a call to the rest of the members that were in the "Losers Club" as the called themselves in 1958. Stan Uris is the first one to receive the call. He can't bring ...
