One of the BEST tripods ever!
Best tripod I've ever owned! And I got it for a better price than my local camera store offers it. Don't cheap out on a camera tripod. This is able to go to low heights and much higher heights than I will ever need. I also bought a high quality phone mount for this tripod. I really like this tripod so much.

The Slik U8000 tripod has served me well for more than a decade.
I have used a Slik U8000 tripod for about 12 years and have been pretty happy with it. When my first one began to wear out (the plastic crank which raises and lowers the center column broke and a couple of the rubber feet fell off), I was glad to see an (almost) new one listed for sale on eBay. The tripod is lightweight, yet easy to set up and use. And it has a three-way pan head with a detachable camera platform. I have used it with both film and digital SLR cameras. There are cheaper lightweight tripods out there, but I don't think any of them are better built. Slik has a good line of tripods including some robust ones (for larger and heavier cameras) for just a bit more money.I have used a Slik U8000 tripod for about 12 years and have been pretty happy with it. Slik U2210 tripod
It's everything an amature photographer wants :well made, lightweight, stable, and almost limitlessly adjustable. The quick-release mounting post means I don't have to struggle with dismounting my camera from the tripod. I've had a U212, so I knew this 210 would be a terrific value (I did buy this one used). Matter of fact, the only real difference between the 212 and the 210 I see is the 212 is anodized black, and the 210 is clear aluminum anodize. These are made in Japan, and the quality shows- no sloppy hinges, no loose mounts, no ill-fitting legs. The legs will adjust to almost flat on the floor. The adjustment lock knobs hold your position firmly. The rubber feet can be screwed back revealing pointed feet- useful on hard surfaces or if you need to achieve finer adjustment. The pan ... The head is removable from the tripod. There is a built in ball level, and degrees of swivel are marked to allow panoramic shooting. If you're looking at tripods, give the 210 or 212 some serious consideration. You won't be disappointed.
