I have used my iRiver 180T for almost two years now. I use it mostly on the construction site. It is exposed to dust, sweat, vibration and just general hard use. My 15 year old son also uses it, and he manages to break almost everything. I like to use the MP3 player, but find the conversion of files to be somewhat laborious. But that is not a fault of the iRiver. Although take into consideration I am not much of a computer geek and some of this takes me several tries. The thing I like best about the iRiver is the FM radio and the ability to record from FM. It works great, and is easy to use. Batteries last a long time. I have also used the recording feature several times at meetings. Again easy to use. I have only used this MP3 player so I do not know how it stacks up against others, but I am happy with this one.Read full review
For an inexpensive, tough, light little mp3 player, this is a great choice. It doesn't hold all that many songs, but I can record a song playing on the radio to replay and ask my husband who sings it! Very handy for me. The FM tuner is great for what it picks up, but is somewhat limited in range. We're in the country, so the closest station is the one we'll hear. On the interstate, it has more range, but not what the Suburban picks up. The price is about $75 at discount stores, so for just carrying along a few favorite downloaded CDs and an FM tuner and recorder, it's a handy, durable, choice that doesn't need a charger. Just have a spare AA battery in your truck and you're good to go for another few months. Mostly, my husband carries it in his shirt or coat pocket when he's doing fieldwork and gets tired of the radio on the tractor.Read full review
My eleven-year-old sister found this iRiver and paid for the auction with her money; her big sister has an mp3 player, so naturally F. wanted one, too. The iRiver iFP-180T is a basic, straightforward player that also picks up FM frequency stations. 128mb can only store about 60 songs or so, but if you only have a few favorite artists or are willing to trade out music fairly often, that won't be a problem for you. The sound quality is good, but true musicphiles will want a beefier player for the best sound. The body of the player is reasonably sturdy plastic, and the buttons are clearly labeled. While not top of the line, the iRiver iFP-180T is a quality MP3 player for people who are just starting out or who do not require a large storage capacity.
I got one of these for christmas over two years ago and it was my first one ever. I have gotten other ones since then that hold more songs and look cooler but I always seem to use this one. Its not that it has a lot of features its that its small and simple and I can take it anywhere and no one can really tell I have it. I enjoy being able to keep it hidden and still be able to reach in my pocket and change the song. The controls are very simple and after using it for so long I can use them without looking at it. I would highly recommend this player to anyone who doesn't want to pay over $200 for an mp3 player.
great for recording a quick interview or audio notes. easy to use and download the audio off of it. rugged and uses power slowly so your not flying though batteries. audio sounds great.
