About this product

Product Information

The acclaimed #1 New York Times and undisputed King of Horror Stephen King offers another spine-tingling compilation of short stories sure to keep a reader up late at night. King is in terrifying top form in these fourteen short stories, taking readers down a road less traveled (for good reason) in the blockbuster ebook "Riding the Bullet"; bad table service turns bloody when you stop in for "Lunch at the Gotham Café"; and terror becomes déjà vu all over again when you get "That Feeling, You Can Only Say What It Is in French"--along with eleven more stories that will keep you awake until daybreak. Two of the stories, "The Little Sisters of Eluria" and "Everything's Eventual "are closely related to the Dark Tower series. Enter a nightmarish mindscape of unrelenting horror and shocking revelations that could only come from the imagination of the greatest storyteller of our time. Stories include: -Autopsy Room Four -The Man in the Black Suit -All That You Love Will Be Carried Away -The Death of Jack Hamilton -In the Deathroom -The Little Sisters of Eluria -Everything's Eventual -L. T.'s Theory of Pets -The Road Virus Heads North -Lunch at the Gotham Café -That Feeling, You Can Only Say What It Is in French -1408 -Riding the Bullet -Luckey Quarter

Contents What I did was take all the spades out of a deck of cards plus a joker. Ace to King = 1-13. Joker = 14. I shuffled the cards and dealt them. The order in which they came out became the order of the stories, based on their position in the list my publisher sent me. And it actually created a very nice balance between the literary stories and the all-out screamers. Next collection: selected by Tarot. Thrilling as usual

So far I have read two stories and are scary but nice, you know the author’s touch. The bool itself was second handed but in good conditions. Thank you.

  • Better than some, not as great as others

The opening story of this book held me riveted, trying to figure our the plot. However, I don't think a lot of the other stories in the book lived up to the first. The book includes comments from King for every short story, which is kind of cool. It also contains his famous e-book. Overall, if you like King, you will like this book. It's not his greatest ever, but the man has put out some stuff that is pretty darn hard to surpass. I like that the stories are only about 30-40 pages each. Makes it a great read for a King fan with a busy life. Overall, 4 stars out of 5 :).

  • Great Anthology

Some of the stories are better than others, but the ones that are good are very, very good. Most stories can be read in about one sitting. I keep this in my locker at work so I have something to read on breaks and lunch. I actually owned this book before and realized that it had been lost during a move, so I found it again on eBay. They go for a pretty good price, less than $4 in most cases. Definitely a must-have for fans of King's short stories or for those who enjoy the Dark Tower books. I'd say that my three favorite are "1408" (which was recently sports decent film adaptation), "L.T.'s Theory of Pets" (also available on audio book, if memory serves) and the "Little Sisters of Eluria", which is actually what got me into the Dark Tower books in the first place, several years ago.

  • Great!!!

One of Stephen King's best!love his short stories.a must read for horror fans!
