In the midst of a squelching heat wave, Harry (Adrien Brody)--a deranged psychopath obsessed with the escape artist Houdini--kidnaps the wife of a millionaire and buries her alive in a shallow grave.     Low budget gem

    Hollywood can't make a decent flick for 20 million. This film has it all for 1.2 million. It is tense to the end, the characters are believable, even the car chase is. It makes you think about being in the victim's situation; " could I have possibly have dealt with it" I don't know. Might have taken the bullet instead. Brody was the initial reason for buying it. He doesn't disappoint. Does it well, you really want to strangle him slowly. I prefer flims without big name Hollywood draws. Frequently that's all there is.
