I tried 2 other G-SHOCK tough solar atomic watches and they were both hard to read because of the unnecessary bullsh*t on the display that is unreadable made the actual time and date so small you needed magnifying glasses to see it. This model cutback on the bullsh*t and left the display more readable. It does exactly the same things that the other watches did, but better. The stainless steel band is great and won’t break like the plastic resin bands always do. The solar battery means you won’t need to replace a battery every few years. And the atomic feature keeps accurate time that you only have to set once when you chose your time zone. The auto backlight is a great feature that lights up the backlight when you turn your wrist. There are other features that I will never use like alarms, timers, and stopwatch. This is the smartest non smart watch I can think of. I just got this watch and I believe I can come back in ten years and update my review with the same praises. Highly recommended!Read full review

Haven't had it long, but the initial impression is good. Replacing an older atomic/solar with this steel version, and it's face is very similar. Comfortable band and easy to adjust. I removed a couple of links and it was good to go. Set my city code and put it in some sunlight for a day or two. All systems go...

This is my second watch. The first one is still working great. It needs a new wrist band. These watches are the best I have ever owned. I have had my first one for approx,15 years.

The Casio MTGM900A is a thick biggish watch but not heavy and sits comfortably on my 7.2" wrist. I've had my Casio W-753 for near 40 years and still going strong - just had to change battery every 2 years or so, and (finally) swapped the awful Casio plastic strap(s - many over the years) out for a tinny but far better s/s bracelet. I have other solar watches and wanted a solar digital on a half-decent s/s bracelet. Bracelet is better but attachments are still plastic. Similar lasted on the W-753 so hopefully the MTGM900A will prove the same? I expect my watches to all be robust and go where I go (land, sea & air) be as accurate as they can possibly be, and last. Only had this a couple of weeks but its been on hikes and in sea & s/pool. So far, so good. Does need clear, open area to receive satellite time signal.Read full review

I bought this watch three years ago and have liked it so much that I bought another last month. I did this just in case my first watch malfunctioned, so I would have a replacement if they stopped making them. My first watch is still working perfectly by the way. The bracelet is durable and easy to adjust. The watch is robust; in fact it's difficult to tell the difference between my three year old one and the new one. The display is large and easy to read even in the dark. The watch is 'chunky' but not too large. The solar charging system is very effective and easily maintains the charge level at 'high'. With no batteries to purchase there is no risk of breaking the water tight seal on the back. The atomic clock adjusting system works very well when I'm in the US (Alaska) and the UK; although living in Australia we don't have this system available. This is a fantastic watch, which I hope will last me for many years.Read full review
