    Excellente

    John Hughes has always had youths and their feelings in the front of his mind when he made many of his movies. This one is no exception. It has an unexpected hero who has yet to stand up to the bullies in his life, the best friend and his girlfriend who involve him in a day off from school he won't soon forget and many of Chicago's sights and sounds to take in. It also has a true bad guy who may sound well-meaning but is in fact out after Ferris and Co. just to ruin their lives not to get them back into school for a good education as well as a sister who concerns herself with everyone else's business but not her own. Things are not as straight-cut as the YMMV page of TV Tropes would have you believe so take a watch and see if you find yourself enjoying it.
