Well above-average set of features in the A
1. In one instrument it goes comfortably from below the lowest-frequency ham bands to comfortably above the highest one (the 70 cm band) I'm interested in 2. It incorporates time-domain reflectometry, for fault-checking 3. You can calibrate it at home, at the far end of the coax cable you're using 4. It has several presentation modes, including Smith Chart (the USA model doesn't portray the Smith Chart background, but one can easily so portray with a bit of pencil-copying) 5. It comes with a CD that enables data downloads to a PC, for storage and further analysis1. Very easy to use. Gotta learn how to use it to its full potential but if you know what your looking at you don't even need to read the instructions. I on the other hand will have to get educated to what all its capable of. I'm sure I will found that it will benefit me even more then. Helped me run down a lot of my issues with my Antenna system. Thought I had two bad brand new antennas, turns out it was the antenna switch. My beam did have some very high SWR's 5.5 and it help me rule out bad cable. I went right to the top of the tower and checked the beam itself and same thing, 5.5 on SWR's. So, if you got the money its worth it's Weight in gold. It's very compact I like the case. I was able to put the SWR meter inside the box as well as MFJ 847. Pulled a few plugs of foam out, fit perfect.Very easy to use.
