About this product

Product Information

James Kalat's best-selling INTRODUCTION TO PSYCHOLOGY does far more than cover major theories and studies; it encourages you to question the information and ask yourself, "How was this conclusion reached?" and "Does the evidence really support it?" In this student-praised text, Kalat challenges your preconceptions about psychology to help you become a more informed consumer of information not only during your college experience but, also as you venture into your post-college life. With his humorous writing style and hands-on "Try It Yourself" exercises, Kalat puts you at ease and gets you involved with what you are studying so that you can succeed in your course.

  • Very good, not too factual.

This book is good for psychology because it is not just factual. It is very interesting and it purposelly makes it this way. Its a good book even though the reason I bought it was for a class as a requirement. It uses real life examples and its good at putting some history in there too. One can learn all sides of psychology form this. It was a great purchase.

  • Introduction to Psychology by James W. Kalat (2007)

i bought it for psych class and it is helping me tremendously. This is the textbook that my class requires. it is easy to use, interesting, and i recommend it to anyone who want a broad knowledge on the subject.

  • OK, BUT STRANGE!!

This book came in a timly manner, however, on the cover and the back cover of the book, written in large letters and highlighted in red stated..."NOT FOR SALE IN THE UNITED STATES"...This was printed by the publisher of the book, I checked with other people who have the book and it doesn't seem to be any different. but the auction said non of this. This should have been on the auction and in the picture...VERY MISLEADING

  • Great Intro to Psych Book!

Great book with a lot of memorable and interesting facts and information. Also included are some funny anecdotes and concept checks. A fine textbook for an intro to psychology. I actually found myself reading some stuff that wasn't even assigned by the professor :)

  • Interesting

what i liked about this book was that they provided weblinks to demostrate examples of the subject. another thing is that its very easy to understand
