They were neatly packed and in the condition described. Contact with seller prior to the order wasn't possible, but communication afterwards was spotless.

  • Windows Home Server User's Guide by Andrew Edney (2007,

I just recently built a home server (better than just a NAS) and purchased Microsofts' "Window Home Server" software as the operating system for it. The software is a OEM product which doesn't come with much instruction on installation and maintaining the system. This book is written in plain layman's language and offers step by step instructions on installing and maintaining a home server system. Unless you are familiar with Windows Home Server this guide is a must have. It is very concise, accurate and well written. The author was an actual developer of the software so he is very knowledgeable of this product. I give his book a five star rating.

  • A Good Install and Reference Manual

I like the book and it is a good reference manual for my server installation. I was hoping the book would have a separate chapter just on troubleshooting issues but instead mentions problems you might have within each topic of each chapter. Sometimes you're not quite sure where to look, for example if you have a non-descriptive error message on the screen or steps to take when you have a certain symptom.

  • Windows home Server Guide

Some of these books are not worth the paper they are printed on, But this one is different. I am not an expert at Computer technology, I can however assemble one, set up a network and resolve minor issues. This guide is for that person. Step by step instructions for WHS. WHS is for this kind of user, the one who wants to back up there files, and share media between 10 computers. Those who complain that WHS doesn't do this or that, are misguided. WHS is for the casual IT guy, and book is an excellent companion.

  • If you're going to do WHS you should have this book.

While this book is becomming alittle dated, it is a must for anyone that is going to be using the Windows Home Server. As a reference, it has all of the basic information you need. I have used this manual several times and discovered tips and tricks to get more form my WHS which I might add has turned out to be better than I had expected. This one Bill got right.
