    A must have for the home mechanic

    Detailed steps and pictures however a basic understanding of auto repair is required to fully complete some advanced procedures. This manual also covers several models making it a little difficult to follow at times. However it is helpful to diagnose many vehicle problems before taking it to a shop. I have this brand of repair manual for ever vehicle I own.

    Lets face it.... cars are a luxury, therefore an expense. The simple fact is, no matter how you look at it, even if your car runs perfect all the time, you still have to put gas in it to make it go. Expense! But who's car runs perfect all the time? If you have one, let me know so I can get one too! But honestly, at some point in time your car needs some attention. Whether it is the simple oil change, brakes, or something more difficult, wouldn't it be nice to do it yourself as opposed to shelling out a bunch of cash to have someone else do it for you? The Haynes line of repair manuals are perfect for the novice level and up do it yourselfers!     Haynes Pontiac Grand Am 97

    Well like any other Haynes, very descriptive, and helpful diagrams and step by step break down and rebuild. Great for any novice machanic or more advaced machanic. Ues it as a help to work on that fixer-upper you have sitting around. Great, and I recommend it, not as exhaustive as Chiltons, but unless you need exhaustive wiring diagrams it will suffice. Go for it, not much to loose.
