    Very good, but lacking pictures of her wonderful recipes.

    I like the recipes in Mrs. Leah’s cookbook, albeit several are beyond my tastes. I would have preferred to have seen some photographs of recipes interspersed in the book. First time in a long while I have seen a classic cookbook not include any pictures of recipes, either in progress, or completed recipes on display. I remember visiting Dooky’s several times. In one visit, the item we asked for was not on the menu, but Ms. Chase went back into the kitchen and said she would see what she could whip up. At the time, my granddaughter was a newborn, and Ms. Chase spent some time doting over her. A wonderful and memorable experience!

    Historic Recipes that come to Life!

    I have made one of the recipes , " Creole Meatballs," and it turned out perfect. It was super delicious! The cook book tells stories about the recipes, and the life of Leah Chase in some times her words. I am very happy that I have purchased this recipe book, for its historic value and the simple ingredients that make each recipe.
