  • Burris scout scope 2-7x32

Let me tell you that I've spent a few months looking for a scout scope for my new production Springfield M1A. The most important thing I learned when comparing scopes was the eye relief. I measured 11-1/2" from my eye to where the back of the scope would be mounted on the forward rail that comes stock on my rifle. There are literally no scopes out there that have the ideal eye relief for this particular gun. I believe Burris claims between 9-12" of eye relief which is what you will need for the M1A. Pay close attention to this factor because you want to be able to hold the rifle comfortably and have a clear picture when you hold it up. I wanted to spend more money on something like the leupold vx-r which is supposed to be a scout type scope but the eye relief just wasn't enough. This is just my 2 cents. Do the research for yourself but I think you'll find that the Burris is a wonderful scope that is meant to be on this forward mounted rail. I've had no problems with light or blurr at all. I did purchase a lazer bore sighter to aid in adjusting the turrets before wasting a ton of ammo at the range. As you know, .308 is very expensive. Again, the Burris scout scope seems be high quality and works well for me. I've not had an issue so far. Besides, they have a killer warranty, no questions asked if something should fail. My only suggestion would be to get good at shooting with the iron sights first just in case the scope fails. There are videos on how to set up the irons on YouTube which are very helpful. I have to say that once set up properly, they are dead on. When s#$t hits the fan, you wanna be able to take the scope off and use one of the best iron sights made to this day. Shoot safe!

  • Great Quality!

I installed this scope on a Ruger Super Redhawk in .480 caliber. Sighting the scope in was quick and easy. Sighted it in at 25 yards then went to 50 to make final adjustments. I will be using this particular setup to whitetail deer hunt and hog hunt in Mississippi. I have shot 40 rounds of factory ammo and the scope hasn't moved or needed adjustment. It is clear and gathers light well for a 32mm objective. At this price point this is a great buy!

  • 1” group at 100yd using factory ammo. Remington 30-30 10” barrel using 150gr bullets. Today got a buck using the TC contender

Very happy. My other cheaper scope was good for a 4” group.

  • It’s okay not great

Works okay as a handgun scope. After 5 power though the eye relief is greatly reduced. Making it a bit unsafe for use with a high powered handgun
