About this product

Product Information

Fans rejoin the bespectacled boy wizard and his gifted companions for their third Game Boy Advance adventure, based on the same-titled story by J.K. Rowling. As in the novel (and also the 2004 feature film), the GBA adaptation of Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban involves the escape of the infamous Sirius Black from the wizard's prison called Azkaban. For the first time in EA's Harry Potter series, this title has gamers taking control not only of Harry, but of his talented friends Hermione and Ron as well. The game is designed with cooperation in mind, so many challenges will require that the three student magicians use their distinct abilities in concert, combining their powers to succeed where any one of them alone might not. The young heroes will face intimidating enemies as they unravel the mystery surrounding the prison escape, including the imposing Dementors, who serve as guards in Azkaban, and ultimately, the rogue wizard Sirius Black himself.

    Fun and adventurous.

Although, I wanted to have the game in complete condition again. I’ve always loved it, and it’s easy enough to understand for an RPG, and finding the wizard cards and upgrading the spells is the best part. It even has a few references to the book too, but some canon events were omitted as well.

  • Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban (GBA)

It's a good game that plays like the previous two games for the GBA. The bad thing about this game is there is less to do. There are a few side "quests" for each class, but there are only four classes you attend. There are less rooms in the castle, too (Snape, McGonagall, Flitwick no longer have offices there, there is no longer a broom closet or Charms classroom, and many of the classrooms from the previous two games no longer exist). You can go up to where the Herbology greenhouse is (there's only one), but you cannot go inside. You do not attend Herbology, Charms, or Divination classes. There is an improvement in the foli bruti in that all the enemies you haven't identified will show up as the blue and white cloud until you do identify them, and you get the ability to identify ...

  • Good fun

I tried the DS game Order of the Phoenix first, and I got bored with that. But this GBA game I did not want to put down. I actually find the less detailed graphics more appealing than the DS game and the scoring system feels more rewarding. The mini games are kind of pointless, but that doesn't mean they're not fun. "Magical encounters" (what other games call fighting or combat) do get repetitive, but your powers grow as you use them so it stays somewhat interesting. Overall plot follows the storyline of the book and movie, but not in such a way that you find it annoyingly predictable. I definitely recommend the game. It was worth the price.

  • Harry Potter and The Prisoner of Azkaban (Game Boy Adva

I love this game! It's like you actually get to be Harry Potter a have the life of a wizard! Totally cool! Description HARRY POTTER AND THE PRISONER OF AZKABAN by EA Games takes the HARRY POTTER series to a new genre: turn-based RPGs. Harry, Ron, and Hermione, now with HP, MP, and EXP levels, travel through various Hogwarts-themed dungeons searching for clues to the mysterious escaped prisoner Sirius Black and his connection to Harry’s past. As with all traditional RPGs, part of the game will involve battling enemies and gaining experience. Battles are turn-based, meaning Harry, Ron, and Hermione each get to cast a spell or use an item followed by each of their enemies performing an action. In addition to customized spells and equipment, each of the three young wizards has an unique ...
