    good quality - not actually complete, but!

    This set does not include a shim (called a gasket by BMW to add further confusion). 1978 is a transition year and to clear stock, BMW used up powercases for part of that year with no champher for the O'ring. Instead there was a metal shim which acts as a gasket but was available in different thicknesses for diferent markets with different octain gasolines. A way of adjusting compression. The gasket is used without an O'ring. The O'ring is used without a gasket. I have seen both installed together and it doesn't work. Pay attention as BMW books don't cover that in any of their technical data. You find out the hard way. So, verify if there is a champher. I have yet to install my gaskets but this I remember from 2002 when I did the pistons and I couldn't understand why there was a gasket and ...
