9/64 inch hex head required
As title says, 9/64 inch hex bit is required for mounting. QD cup on both sides, and can be installed with or without the included look for HK style clips/hooks. Allows for a two qd, or one qd and one hook configuration. With hook installed the opposite side will still function as a quick detach point. Aside from the less common bolt size, the mount is great so far. Metal, not polymer. Includes silicone pads to prevent the mount for marring the barrel finish.As title says, 9/64 inch hex bit is required for mounting. My main gripe is that its badly designed in one respect: if you just want to use the QD side, you cant remove the para-clip loop on the other side since its the anchor point. They tried to please everybody with this one...you get a compromise product. I dont want the para-loop sticking out on the other side of my gun. It wasnt clear from the description that you were gonna be stuck with the para-clip loop thing no matter if you wanted the QD side. Worked Great on my Mossberg 590 A1
All these little bits of coated metal and plastic are expensive. Yet, the function of this Magpul forward sling mount is perfect for a shotgun with a long magazine tube under the shotgun barrel. The instructions were crystal clear. Everything I needed was in the package except the Allen wrench (which I already had for my AR15). Had a devil of a time getting the screw out initially to allow me to take it apart to insert it between the barrel and the magazine tube. I finally inserted my fingers as if they were the barrel and the magazine tube and that gave me enough leverage to loosen the single center torx type screw. I like that the sling attachment point is high on the shotgun's foreend. Makes the sling stay put when I toss it over my shoulder.All these little bits of coated metal and plastic are expensive. Typical Magpul Quality
I used this as a ' mag clamp " which will fit on the end of a extended Mag/barrel, without the interference of the front sight. I use a large extension....and have a mag clamp every 4 inches. It is very well machined, fit & finish is Magpul quality. I don't use a sling { or anything else } on my shotguns........so I can't attest to its functionality, but the quality is there !!!I used this as a ' mag clamp " which will fit on the end of a extended Mag/barrel, without the interference of the front sight.
