Self-made celebrity and outlaw of gross-out comedy, Tom Green (of MTV's TOM GREEN SHOW) makes the leap to the big screen with the outrageous semi-autobiographical FREDDY GOT FINGERED. Starring as Gord Brody, a slacker fast-approaching 30, yet still living in his father's basement, Green is his usual obtusely hilarious, polymorphously perverse self. Physical comedy ascends to the realm of extreme performance art as Brody's unachievable lifelong dream to become an animator causes him to clash with his hardened father (played by the steely and equally funny Rip Torn.) A furtive love affair with a wheelchair-bound rocket scientist and the disturbing hijinks of a troublesome younger brother named Freddy form the core of the sublimely stupid plot that serves mainly as a platform from which Green launches his incredible and often irrational comedic fare. Testing the limits of comedy, Green's deceptively moronic film does, at times, achieve a level of visual and conceptual cleverness, crafting ironic and primordial images from jokes on human folly.

      Tom is Funny, but I think he tried way to hard on this!

      There is no way to out-guess what the critics were going to say about this film. Freddy Got Fingered was one of Tom Green's pet projects for a couple of years, and I'm sure that he had a blast making this film. His bizarre approach to comedy is his own brainchild and deserves some form of critical acclaim regardless. Even though this film is edited down to 87 minutes and rated R, it also has Deleted Scenes, Tom (the director) audio overlay commentary, and a P.G. Version on the DVD for those who wish to tone it down a bit. Gord's girlfriend and wife to be Drew Barrymore even takes out the time to have a small role in his film. Gord's girlfiend Betty (Marisa Coughlan) is wheelchair bound and is also a bound and determined person which says something about overcoming reality, although the ...

      Freddy Got Fingered

      Well, if you like Tom Green, understand him and have a sense of situational humor you'll like this one. It's highly irreverent, somewhat anarchistic and flat out mindbogglingly silly! It would never win awards (and in fact was panned by 95% of the so-called critics) but people who have a silly take on the seriousness of their everyday routines will love it. Think of the early 90's Fox T.V. comedy "Get a Life" or the film "Napoleon Dynamite". I like Tom Green. I grew up with people who have lived his vision in real life! I'm not going to give you a plot synopsis but if you like borderline gross-outs with a juvenile spin but presented in a really smart way see this DVD.

      You'll either love it or hate it...

      The movie is completely retarded with out a doubt. It is disgusting, vile, and juvenile but it is what makes the film. You have to appreciate the fact that it does not take itself seriously. It's just pure shock humour. You have to have an open mind for a film that includes a scene in which it's lead character masturbates a horse. You'll either love it or hate it. There's no in between.

      Intense and over the top absurdist comedy

      Rewarding film to watch, also very intense viewing experience. Has a lot of low moments that make me feel pretty uncomfortable but I think they really add enjoyment to the film.
