Im Jahr 1992 kam die Canon EOS 1000 F mit EF 35-80mm Objektiv-Kit auf den Markt, die als analoge Spiegelreflexkamera die Fotos auf einem 35-mm-Kleinbildfilm speichert. Sie verfügt über ein EOS-Bajonett, wodurch sich diverse Objektive mit dieser 580 g schweren Kamera verwenden lassen. Für einen komfortablen Gebrauch bietet sie außerdem eine Multiprogrammautomatik. Der Fotograf kann selbst auswählen, ob er den Autofokus oder den manuellen Fokus einsetzt. Zudem gibt es vorinstallierte Motivprogramme, die die Arbeit mit diesem Kameramodell erleichtern und auch Amateuren die Möglichkeit auf exzellente Fotos geben. Der Blitz ist integriert und klappt bei Bedarf aus. Für eine gute Bildqualität sorgen ferner die intensive Farbwiedergabe, die Schärfe und die angenehmen Kontraste. Selbstaufnahmen sind dank des praktischen Selbstauslösers mit einer Maximalvorlaufzeit von 12 Sekunden problemlos möglich.
