    An Obvious Choice for Quality and Reliability

    This is my own honest review of the Freecom ToughDrive 1TB Mobile External Hard Drive USB 3.0 I bought this model to replace my previous Freecom 'ToughDrive' which I have used constantly and almost daily since it was first purchased in 2005. Its main use was as my photo archive back up and back then 8GB was an enormous amount of portable storage! Sadly many hard travelled miles and exposure to hot and cold climate extremes (+54c to -14c) and wear and tear have finally taken their toll on my trusty Freecom ToughDrive. The USB connector developed an intermittent fault which I suspect is the cable fraying inside the sheath. I researched and reviewed many of the alternatives in the market place and was amazed by how much storage was now available particularly with solid state drives. ...
