    Great phone but OEM battery has surprisingly short run time

    Purchased this phone due to its high quality construction, HD screen, dual core processor, 32 GB of onboard storage, and low price. I also wanted a relatively "pure" Android experience (without a lot of junk apps) and this phone delivers that. It was a near top-of-the-line device 5 years ago and is adequate even today for anyone who isn't a power user. Camera is only 5 megapixels, so anyone who takes lots of pictures may want a phone with a higher resolution camera. You're stuck with Android 4.2.2 unless you are willing to root the phone and install a 3rd party Android O.S., but I knew this going in. The battery life is surprisingly short even with modest use -- I got about 8 to 9 hours. Shortly after my phone purchase I bought a higher capacity battery so the phone had enough juice to ...

    "trebuchet has stopped working"

    The battery had a problem with bloating, and I was able to get a new one free thanks to the great support, and the phone seemed like a good value. It gets very hot, but otherwise it worked well. However the device has a defect that popped up randomly and keeps popping up and I have found no fix for it. The launcher crashes and gives the error "trebuchet has stopped working". The device is also very unstable with some apps. No matter how many times I wipe the phones data, the error still occurs. But otherwise, it is a good phone, although it is quite old.

    Mostly good

    I bought this phone to upgrade without getting rid of my unlimited data plan. The best undocumented feature that I find useful is it allows me to be on the phone and on web at the same time (suck it AT&T!). The only thing I didn't like is this model doesn't connect to my computer via USB as a mass storage device which would make it easy to manipulate files on the phone through my computer. That's would have been the simplest way to restore my old backed up app settings. That also stopped me from being able to do a USB tether and use the phone data plan to get my computer on the internet when normal internet access methods are unavailable. I have just had to learn to deal without those features. Also the battery life was pretty horrible by itself, but using a battery saver app makes it last ...

    Great value for the money, if you can ignore the battery life.

    I purchased this phone because I wanted to upgrade to 4g LTE without losing my unlimited data plan through Verizon. This phone was one of the least expensive ways that I found to accomplish this. Compared to the other Android phones in it's price range this is actually better across the board except for two areas. The first and most glaring issue with this phone is the battery life. I charged the phone overnight after I got it activated on my account. After very light use I had to plug it into a charger about midway through my day, I had an Iphone before upgrading to this so low battery life was a completely new issue for me. After installing task killers and the green power app I can now make it about 10 hours on a charge with light use. The second weakness compared to the other phones ...

    Fast, light and up to date

    What's good; newer Android software (not the latest, but close) What's bad; battery life. Using a smartphone for the tasks you expect will suck battery power FAST. If you like the phone, look up extended life batteries from Samsung. That's what I did. Indifferent: this phone has no facility to take a memory chip ... I thought that would be a problem until I looked at the memory use on the phone I had then. I wasn't using any more than 1 Gig of a 32 Gig chip, so I didn't miss the no memory chip facility. You WILL have to transfer old info to your phone through a PC ... unless you want to do it manually!
