I am an avid I Love Lucy fan and like to read everything about the making of the I Love Lucy show. I have read many books on the subject by several different authors. This book was very contradictory to the stories I have read by other authors. In this particular book, Jess Oppenheimer takes almost 100 percent of the credit for the idea of I Love Lucy and all writing and filming aspects. I found him humorous but overly confident, self-centered and conceited. All the books I have previously read give credit where credit is due. • The Oppenheimer Influence

This was a wonderfull painting of what it took to produce not just a Hit Show but two of Americas favorite TV mogals. Team work and dedication was key! This book shows how one man sparked the imaginations of the most talented, not to mention the first sitcom writers, to write for a studio audience. Lucille Ball and Desi Arnaz were the parents to a generation of laughs...but without the Oppenheimer influence, it would have been just another show. A good easy read. Prior subject knowlege from other sources may differ.
