About this product

Product Information

These eighty-five cartoons provide a hilarious perspective on everything from reincarnation to mindful--or perhaps mindless--ness. Over the centuries, Buddhism has offered the world a clear-eyed, down-to-earth approach to life and death. This irresistible little book of teachings is no exception. It demonstrates that wisdom can--and often should--be taught through humor. Buddha Laughing is a healthy recipe for lightening up, the path to true enlightenment.

  • Buddha laughs gently at where our thoughts go when considering "Buddha."

I bought this little book because I wanted to see what passes for the "lighter" side of "Buddha." It tickled my funny bone, and I've left it out on my coffee table for others to read and have a giggle. It's sweet; it's funny; it's whimsical and sometimes irreverent, but always gently funny. If the Buddha was poking gentle fun at the ideas people have of what constitutes "buddhist" humor, this book does it! I love the New Yorker cartoons, and this little collection put me much in mind of those.
