Best and Cheapest solution to record OTA Channels.
I love this Machine. I have 9 local channels via antenna with Sling orange with DVR add on for my sports. You can only record your OTA channels with the Air Player and only Sling channels with its DVR but all recordings show up in the same place. The only reason I have the Sling DVR is for the Walking Dead and Last Ship episodes and when their seasons conclude I plan on doing away with the Sling DVR. Air player DVR is fantastic, love the remote, and you really do not have to have Sling at all because it works off of its on input(HDMI). I wanted to record more and one channel at a time, so I talked to Air TV and they told me all I had to do was buy the $30 Dual Tuner adapter from them and you can record two channels at the same time or record one and watch the other. 2nd day with this, sling app is not stable, had to force stop sling app twice because when I was in guide, I’d click “watch” on the channel I want to view, and channel never loaded, just blank screen , no buffer wheel , today I start it up, I click on channel I want to watch while in guide, channel loads but sound and video are in slow motion, any channel, same thing, I force close sling app, same issue, I needed to unplug the box and reboot , also, the remote turns off my tv and sound system, but it won’t turn the sound system back on along with the tv, this box has potential, just needs to get these bugs ironed out , on a side note, not experiencing these issues using sling app with a different device , 2nd day with this, sling app is not stable, had to force stop sling app twice because when I was in guide, I’d click “watch” on the channel I want to view, and channel never loaded, just blank screen , no buffer wheel , today I start it up, I click on channel I want to watch while in guide, channel loads but sound and video are in slow motion, any channel, same thing, I force close sling app, same issue, I needed to unplug the box and reboot , also, the remote turns off my tv and sound system, but it won’t turn the sound system back on along with the tv, this box has potential, just needs to get these bugs ironed out , on a side note, not experiencing these issues using sling app with a different device ,

A product that sometimes works
I have several of these it sounded like a great answer to get local stations with the Locast function without relying on some floppy antenna. Air tv works differently on each tv brand — depends on the internal programming. The last one I set up is TCl and it seemed great until the picture just froze and the device wouldn’t clear for hours. These guys have a long way to go on their programming. Only buy this thing if you get a deal. airtv portrays this item only needs internet for set up which is partially true.you can view OTA channels but don't expect the DVR to work the moment internet is offline the guide is lost and it wont record OTA channels. would of been nice if it had keep alive memory for the guide. i live between 2 houses and take internet with me when i go, airtv box stays behind because thats the house with good reception all OTA DVR programming lost as soon as i leave. airtv portrays this item only needs internet for set up which is partially true.you can view OTA channels but don't expect the DVR to work the moment internet is offline the guide is lost and it wont record OTA channels. would of been nice if it had keep alive memory for the guide. i live between 2 houses and take internet with me when i go, airtv box stays behind because thats the house with good reception all OTA DVR programming lost as soon as i leave.

Nice streaming/OTA box.
We got the Blue and Orange packages with cloud DVR, plus connected to our roof antenna and added a WD USB hard drive for local channel recording to save $60/month vs our Dish bill. The AirTV detected my audio receiver and TV. The remote operates them all. The only thing I don't like is that fast forwarding is awkward compared to Dish receiver. I haven't test 4K content.
