    • A Must Read For The Home Wine Maker by Alexander Rubio

It is a relief to read positive encouragement to good wine making. If you are thinking about trying your hand at making wine at home then, this book is a must read! Winemaking by Dorothy Anderson, Stanley F. Anderson (1989) is divided into four sections: The Basics - for those who want to know what it's all about Recipes - for the doers who just want to make a good wine without being burdened by explanations Techniques - for wine makers who want a more complete understanding of the equipment and procedures Reference - for those who want to know the whys and wherefores As a wine maker myself, I found "The Basics" a good guide to the beginning wine maker and an excellent reference book for the current wine maker. The equipment listed in the book is actually everything I use to make my ...

    • I love this book and it has a good author.

I have used this book for many years but I lost it in my last move, so it was good to find it at a good price'. If your looking for a good home winemaking book, this is a good one.

    • Good text but a bit dated...

In reading into this text briefly, I have formed the following opinion(s): -The intro and text are fairly clear and consise. -The techniques outlined are mostly considered 'current practices' (some things don't change). -Some of the concepts are showing a little 'wear' from updates resulting from modern biochemistry, etc. -Many of the ingredients mentioned are no longer available from the supplier / brand mentioned in the text. "Most" ingredients or compounds can still be found with a quick internet search albeit under a different name/description. All in all, I'd recommend this book as a fine reference text with the following caveat - bear in mind that this was last copyrighted in 1989... Yeast still brings fermentation, but a few things have "moved on" since it was written.

    • Great book, good info!

    • OK for reference.

I am a novice winemaker. Book is not a beginners guide.
