    Resuscitate Old Brain Cells

Resuscitate those old brain cells that were imprinted with these classic games & relive the old days - or, if you never played (or heard of) these titles before, educate yourself on how bad the "good old days" were that grandpa always talked about - & see how bad bad could get! Either of these gems will make your head swim - & mebbe your mouth vomit - but i gotta say the ones that were actually good are still good & the bad ones… well…

    Enjoyable but not without flaws

For those of us who grew up in the late 70 s early 80s this is a good introduction. Games included are tempest, centipede, black widow, middle command. However, problem is this particular cd has an oddity. Apparently, a pointed head academic (probably not the original programers) decided it would a great idea to have a permanent imprint of the joystick panel in all the games. So, what your left with is an interfering graphic that takes up the screen size. It the game, Moran's at Atari classic that I want to relive not the joystick console, that's stupid. There is another playstation Atari classic that is available on CD that does not have the interfering graphic and better interviews with 3 of the original programers. It's on eBay, stick with that one.

  • Poorly Developed

These Atari games are excellent when played on the right device. But unfortunately, Playstation One isn't the right device. The original graphics are top notch, but the screen is dark and blurry, making some elements difficult to see. Asteroids is the weakest game in this collection (normally my favorite), but the ship is tiny and you can barely see the missiles you fire. Tempest plays nicely, but again, too dark and the vector graphics are difficult to see through it. PONG and Black Widow are about the only games worth playing. You can see everything in PONG and it's quite challenging, just beware of another quirk when the ball flies to the upper right corner. You won't be able to paddle it back, due to a gap that stops you. In Black Widow you have another dark game with tiny objects, but ...

  • $12 for a PS1 game in its original wrapper is a very good value!

This game is very fun and is at a very good value. $12 for 12 games is around $1 per game, which is an extremely good deal, especially for an old game in new condition. Would recommend this wholeheartedly.
