In terms of value despite the high price, it was nostalgia at best and beyond that, I have a copy of the original Enterprise as seen in "The Cage/Where No Man Has Gone Before" and I thought it would be interesting to compare that with a copy of the original Enterprise as seen in The Original Series. The AAA batteries in the item had to be replaced with new ones and thankfully I had no problem doing that.
