      McGuffey's Primer

      When a pre-schooler drags his or her finger across a book and pretends to read, that child is ready for the real thing. This happens around age three and that is when, with the help of this primer, I taught all six of my children to read. It was their "nighttime story" for about a year and it worked beyond my wildest expectations. As each of them finished the primer, we dropped them into a school system that is less than effective. To their credit, our children never looked back. I spent all of their "college" money on private high school educations and that gamble paid off. Their college educations cost me nothing because they all got full rides or nearly full rides, that they earned through scholarship. Two of them are now MD's. Three are RN's and all ...

      mcguffey's primer - is self explanatory

      I like the basic lessons, the repetition of basic sounds in different situations. The pictures are true to life, not that cartoon stupidity. It is simple enough for young minds to grasp and have fun with while learning. It is inducive to one on one interaction between teacher (in this case grandma) and learner (in this case grandchild). The pages can also be scanned into a computer and reprinted for the baby to have some creative time with crayons without worrying about the book getting the brunt of it!

      Worth your money cause it makes reading fun!

      The McGuffey Primer is an excellent tool when teaching your child to read. I was taught to read through the McGuffey Readers and now I'm teaching my five year old brother how to read with this book. He is doing so well. This book makes learning to read a fun thing for you and your child.
