The item arrived at my house extremely quick, 01/09, five days early. Unfortunately, it was the wrong adapter for my application. I read the description incorrectly. I actually needed a 24+1 DVI configuration. My fault.Since the price was so reasonable, I do not intend to return. I will through it in my drawer of adapters. Never know when I might need a 24+5 DVI to VGA adapter.Greatly appreciated the fast service. Just wish the item had worked.

    Wroks fine for connecting old monitor to PC, however monitor does not sleep when PC is shut off

    Works fine for using an older monitor with only VGA on a graphics card with DVI. Have not tried it the other way around as I have no need to. Only issue is that when the computer is turned off, the monitor says "check video cable" as if it was not connected instead of going to sleep like it would if it were connected to a VGA port. This does not bother me as I normally have the PC on 24/7 and just turn off the monitor, so for what I need it to do it is fine, but this is something to keep in mind.

    READ BEFORE BUYING

    I purchased this to connect my VGA cable to my DVI-I graphics card, but this is male to male, so make sure you get DVI-I male to VGA female to connect to a graphics card. Don’t make the same mistake as me; otherwise it is of great quality matte finish.

    DVI to VGA adapters

    I purchased a better graphics card off eBay and needed these adapters until I get a pair of DVI-I cables for my monitors, they work great, might not even bother with the DVI cables. I was worried about how far they stick out from the card but they seem to be fine.

    Did not work in the first device I tried them in ((input but no output) and would not even plug into the second device I tried them in. Good thing they didn't cost much. Threw them in a desk drawer out of the way were they will probably remain till I house clean some day and trash them.
