Battletech is a pretty fun game, albeit quite difficult. It is an isometric shooter that has 5 missions to complete. Each mission has it's own unique objectives which keeps the game interesting and fun. The objectives can be very difficult at times however, as some of them are timed. The amount of time you are given is usually not nearly enough to complete it in time without some practice, so expect to have to replay the missions a lot. You are given 3 lives and there are no extras, so losing even one is massively detrimental. This, coupled with long missions and objectives make the game difficult. However the game itself is well made. You are given a choice of weapons to choose from before each mission, and all of them are unique and situational. Some are great for attacking building and turrets, while others are good for fighting other mechs. The wrong weapon choice can make the mission a lot harder, so it's best to try and see what works for you. The voiceovers for this game are impressive, especially for the Sega genesis. The graphics are not too bad and the sound is good too, but there is not much music at all during gameplay. The controls are going to seem god awful at first, and they take a little bit to get used to. If you have a friend you trust well, you can play multiplayer where one players walks the mech and the other shoots and moves the torso. Either way, this is a fun game that I think is overlooked, and you can get it for a relatively cheap price too. I recommend getting this one or it's super Nintendo counterpart mechwarrior 3050Read full review

Good graphics for a Sega game. You get to choose the weaponry for your Tech unit, so whatever style you're looking for such as brute force or precision, this game has it. It's comparable to the Strike games (Desert, Jungle, Urban), but you don't have to worry about fuel. It's also two player, but one person controls the weapons platform while the other navigates it. If you love intense combat games and like to wander around blowing stuff up, this is the game for you.
Cool game, super tough.

I bought this game while on a trip down nostalgia lane via a Retron3 system. The graphics are good and the game was simple enough to learn without a cartridge box rule book. The two player co-op mode using one mech is tricky but fun; overall a challenging game with good replay value.
