Opteka OPTM3517F - Exceeds Expectations
Consistent with manual lenses, the onus to focus properly is on the operator, and availing oneself of the Focus Assist tools on their platform is a must (focus peaking/highlighting, live-preview zoom, etc.). Once you've accomplished that and have set the shutter speed/ISO appropriately to achieve 1/35 or faster, you should expect and achieve sharp results. The lens is fully manual, so aside from lack of autofocus, you also do not have Optical Image Stabilization, unless your platform employs IBIS with manual lenses. Images are sharper than expected even wide-open, though the in-focus area is understandably short in depth at F/1.7, so stable shooting and a calm subject helps greatly. Chromatic Aberration and other optical issues are well-controlled, though they are exacerbated slightly ...
