However, the chip is different with JD4+, but it worked with JD4 and the locksmith was able to program the key into the car and prevent the immobilizer from recognizing the duplicate key. So it is fully working just like OEM. Now I have two "real" keys and not just one/valet. Thank you!

    OEM part, but ...

    My Subaru dealer told me they have had trouble cutting this particular key blank, so they started ordering it pre-cut from the factory. I have no way of judging the accuracy of this, but I opted to go with the factory key rather than risk ruining the blank I bought on eBay.

    Remote FOB

    This FOB was purchased for a 2104 Subaru Forrester. When ordering this FOB it is important to have someone available to program the unit. In my situation, I had the key cut at the local ace hardware and the dealer program the FOB for us. This was by far the least costly way do replace the unit rather than getting the FOB at the dealer.
