  • All in one

This saw can do everything. First thing I tried was cross cutting and rip cutting a 2x4 of pine. No problems, as you'd expect. Then I tried it on some hard maple. Again, no problems. Then I thought I'd try doing some fine joinery with it. It did a pretty impressive job of cutting dovetails. All in all, this is a great saw that could easily form the base of your cutting needs. If you want to do a lot of joinery obviously a dozuki saw will be better, but this does the job pretty damn well, and is so damn versatile at the same time. Additionally, for people who have not used pull saws, I find this far easier to use than any western carpenters saw.

  • Cuts like a dream

It is called razorsaw for a good reason. Concerning saws in general, this is the definition of sharp. Runs through wood like a knife through butter. It leaves a nice clean cut, and no tearout if you are doing it right. A little hard to get used to it if you've never used a Japanese saw before, but in the end, worths every penny. Very lightweight, very thin blade, that will probably last for a very long time, and if it gets worn, you simply replace it with a new blade. Totally recommend it!
