Great book for those who believe we cannot depend on history as it is taught and do believe as new discoveries are made we should at least reconsider events of the past, to at least update them, if not change them totally if warranted. Made me think. Find myself reading other history books to see if any validate what was speculated in this book. A good read. Needs just a little more evidence to make me a true believer.

I cannot comment on the content as I haven't read the book. I did peruse the book and found it to be quite technical in presentation.. I believe it would be a great historical reference.. The author had to do an amazing amount of research.. PS: I purchased this book as a gift..

A brilliant piece of research that fills in huge gaps in history. I found this book as compelling and as hard to put down as the hottest novel. While Menzies has been attacked by critics because he dared to suggest that history unfolded differently than we were taught in grade school, he makes a good case for his thesis: that the Chinese under Ming Emperor Zhu Di sent four fleets of large ships around the world to map it, subject it to tribute, and to perfect their navigation system. Evidence is beginning to mount in support of his idea and will bring about a major revision of our understanding of the Age of Exploration. You won't find a non-fiction history book that is a better read!
Great book with lots of compelling facts and research that will change how we understand early world explorations. Highly recommended reading!

Very interesting story of History that had been lost, and destroyed. A real eye opener. Highly recommended.
