Great product for its price
Pro: Like the design and the YouTube button. No programming needed for my Roku 3 box. Cons: Must point directly to the Roku box. However, my sweetheart loves this feature because the original remote worked all directions and the kiddies usually messed up her movies. But too sad, no headphone and volume button like the original for privacy listening.

Please read this before buying for Roku 3
I purchased the basic remote after reading that it "works like a charm" with the Roku 3 console directly, out of the box. All online sources I could find, (including the Roku website) stated that this remote would work without programming or pairing. I found that this was not the case. In fact, it's not possible to do either with this type of remote, as it doesn't have a pairing button. I bought the Roku 3 used, without a remote, not knowing what type of remote would work with my model. After researching, I found that the original remote is voice activated with a pairing button. I recommend investing in that type of remote for your Roku 3. I tried every solution that I could find to get the remote to connect with the Roku 3, but none worked. While the white indicator light on the front of the Roku was blinking, I aimed the remote directly at close range to the device and pressed random buttons on the remote repeatedly. Eventually I noticed the indicator light began to flicker in response to my button pushes. Success! My remote connected to the Roku box and all remote buttons worked great. Later I removed the batteries, waited a few moments for the remote to reset, repeated the procedure to connect and it worked again. I sincerely hope that this helps others in a similar situation.

I didn't know that there are 2 kinds of roku remotes. This one is IR. 1.Standard IR (infrared) remote : A standard IR remote uses invisible infrared (IR) light to transmit remote button presses. For IR remotes to operate reliably they must be pointed directly at the Roku device and there must be nothing that could block the signal from travelling from the remote to the front of the Roku device (where the IR receiver is located). The remote included with Roku TVs is typically a standard IR remote, and some players such as the Roku Express/Express+ include a standard IR remote 2.Enhanced “point-anywhere” remote: connects over a wireless network and does not need to be pointed directly at your Roku® streaming player or Roku TV™ when you press buttons. I absolutely LOVE this product. Do not worry about the pairing button because you just need to point at your Roku and click a button on your remote (any button) and it will connect. Light weight and easy to use
This remote control is light, feels good, and is easy to use. It's just that the power is a little smaller, and I have to put ROKU outside the cabinet to control it. (But the original one didn’t have to do this)
