Timney trigger for an old M77 Ruger
I do a lot of gunsmith work. This is a great trigger once you get it installed. However, it takes a lot of wood removal and careful fitting to get it to go into the wood stock of the gun. The instructions are very good except they don't give many details on what wood to remove. Fitting the wire to make the tang safety wire work is pretty tricky. It would be best for most folks to have it installed by a gunsmith.I do a lot of gunsmith work. This is a great trigger once you get it installed. Bring your dremel
Great Trigger, lots of stock modification to fit the intended M77 Tang Safety action. I have about 2 hours of inletting mods already and not quite done. Dremel will make the job easier, as there is lots of deepening and widening of the area where the new trigger and safety mechanism fit. Factory set at about 2.5lbs, no perceptible creep before a crisp let off. Very typical Timney quality, just more work to fit it in than I have been used to with some of their other products. UPDATE: I DEFINITELY WOULD NOT BUY THIS TRIGGER AGAIN. The reason being that after hours of inletting to get the safety to work, it turns out that the problem with the safety is in the design of this trigger itself. (on my rifle) it is .066" narrower than the factory trigger which used the extra width extend out ... Great Trigger, lots of stock modification to fit the intended M77 Tang Safety action. When that happens the trigger cannot be actuated. I found comments about this back as far as 6 years ago so its not like this just showed up in a production run, So Timney knows its defective and keeps shipping them. Lost a lot of respect for them on this deal......

Found trigger very difficult to install. Had to alter stock and trigger guard. Sear dragged , worse than original trigger. Ended up throwing it in the trash and re installed original trigger . Waste of $100 bucks
