No hot shoe release button
Sony Alpha cameras have a locking system when using hot shoe attachments. There is push button that releases the lock so you can remove attachments. The adapter is fit perfect but there is no release button to get it off of your camera. Once you push it into the hot shoe it locks and can't get it off. I had to take out 2 small screws and remove the locking mechanism on the adapter. Luckily, I needed the adapter for a laser trigger that's not too heavy. I would not use with anything that is a heavier weight due to it will not lock anymore.Sony Alpha cameras have a locking system when using hot shoe attachments. A little movement, but strong hold.
Feels like it'll hold my atomos ninja monitor, with batteries attached, so not particularly light. There was a bit of movement when I tested it after sliding it into the hot-shoe, but it's locked in. If you notice on your Sony hot-shoe, theres a dip toward the front, in the middle. This accessory clips into that, and won't slide back out. You would have to unscrew the top and essentially dismantle it in order to remove it. -- I wanted that.
