Top choice for a modern style gentlemen's EDC
My first few SOG knives were Flash II's which were my introduction into assisted openers. While those are good EDC carry knives that would probably pass just fine on a construction jobsite, hunting lodge, or weekend swap meet they may be a little rough around the edges in a more formal venue. That's where this little guy is nice to have. It's smaller of course and has premium styling compared to the Flash II. Opening is smoother as you have a flipper tab opener in addition to being an assisted opening spring which combined make this a very smooth opening knife with little recoil (again, comparing to the Flash II which has a healthy amount of recoil which is satisfying but could attract unwanted attention for that reason). I own several flippers and several assisted opener EDC's but this is the only one I've seen that gives you advantages of both. Nice size for everyday carry.
After owning a plastic handled Twitch II for several years, I purchased this wood handle version as an upgrade of sorts. Problem is that this new one doesn't open with one flick as readily as the old one. With time maybe it will wear in and open as it should.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New
