    AMAZING sounding mic for the price!

    This mic is easy to use and has quality sound. Not professional sound but VERY GOOD sound. You can go up to 10db and also add bass. What a steal!

    Shotgun mic

    Tested out this mic. on a few situations and I found that it's really quite good when you're five to six feet away from your subject with the mic set at normal gain set to off, as you move further back the sound from the subject begins to diminish which is expected. It will pick up some sound at the sides however with the gain up at 10 it does amplify sound at the front of the mic but also at the sides. I think it's better to just move in as close as possible to the subject with the gain off. It's not as directional as I would of like, but for the price that it is, it's not too bad.

    Nice deadcat

    This dead at block the wind great! I use it while filming on my boat which you could imagine how windy it may get. Great value. Fits the Tacstar scg598 perfectly. I use it on my Pentax KS2 and it fits right on the the mic. Its universal not just specific to Cannon or Nikon..

    Excellent Price! Nice Mic! Read!

    For the price you cant go wrong. I feel like the audio quality is way better than my stock lumix g7 mic. Also if you look at this Item's nearest competitors, this mic blows all of them away with its price. The Rode video micro go is NICE, but this tacstar Mic has better bass, and has adittional controls on its body. Like low-pass filter, and +10 decibel boost. CONS: Bulky, It Does not have a good suspension solution, It does not come with a dead-cat like its competitor, requires batteries (Some may find cool). But Honestly despite this, It still a good mic for beginner-mid voice-overs, you-tube videos, and podcasts.
